This feature is available on all Goodshuffle Pro Plans.
🇺🇸 US accounts only: Instant Bank Payments are available to Goodshuffle Pro accounts based in the United States. Accounts in other regions won't see this option.
Processing Fee
Every Instant Bank Payment carries a 2.5% processing fee. You decide whether to absorb that fee yourself or pass it to the client. The setting lives under your Payment Policies.
Passing the fee ensures your payout matches the invoiced amount exactly, while absorbing it keeps the client's total clean and predictable.
Per-Charge Limit
Individual Instant Bank Payment charges are capped at under $5,000. Charges at or above that threshold won't show Instant Bank Payment as an option.
Eligible Projects
A project qualifies for Instant Bank Payments when all of the following are true:
Your Goodshuffle Pro account is based in the United States
Your account and current project have Instant Bank Payments enabled
The project is inside the ACH cutoff window you've set
The project does not use a net payment policy
Settlement Timing
Instant Bank Payments within 2 business days, much faster than standard ACH's 3–5 business days to clear + 1-2 business days to settle.
What Happens If a Payment Is Disputed?
Sometimes a payment gets reversed after it's already gone through. There are two ways this can happen, and they're treated very differently:
The bank reverses it (e.g., closed account, technical issue) — You keep the money. Stripe covers it, so nothing comes out of your balance.
The client disputes the charge with their bank — for example, they don't recognize it, claim it wasn't authorized, or are challenging it as fraud. In this case, Stripe pulls the original payment amount plus a dispute fee back out of your Stripe balance while the dispute is being reviewed. You'll then have a chance to respond and submit evidence (receipts, contracts, communication) through your Stripe Dashboard — the same way you would for a credit card dispute.
A note on fraud: Stripe does some fraud screening before Instant Bank Payment is even offered at checkout, so risky transactions may never see the option. But if a fraud claim does come through after a payment, it follows the dispute path above.
For the full technical breakdown, see Stripe's Instant Bank Payments documentation.
