Line Item Discounts

Discounts on specific items will lower the amounts recognized for the specific revenue account connected with that item.

For example: if I discount a $500.00 line item by $50.00, I will see the income account recognize $450.00

This option will align with the 'net' Income from the item after the discount.

The Tax Report within Goodshuffle Pro will by default reflect the 'net' amount owed after any discounts, unless manually selected to apply the discounts after tax.

Contract Level Discounts

Contract level discounts will be added to the Discounts Given Income Account within QuickBooks Online.

For example: If I have a $500.00 line item and I discount the order $50.00, I will see the income account recognize $500.00 for the line item and a discount on the Invoice for the $50.00 discount

In this case, the Income account for the line item would still reflect the original amount, before any discounts. There would be an additional 'negative' line item added for this type of discount.

Discount Services

Discount services will be added to the Services (or Services - Discounts) Income Account with a Service/Fee Type.

For example: If I have a $500.00 line item and I discount the order $50.00, I will see the income account recognize $500.00 for the line item and a discount line item on the Invoice for the $50.00 discount

In this case, the Income account for the line item would still reflect the original amount, before any discounts. There would be an additional 'negative' line item added for this type of discount.
