How to Set Up a Virtual P.O. Box to Use as Your Business Mailing Address

A starter guide to setting up a virtual P.O. box so you can keep your home or HQ address off your quotes and invoices.

This feature is available on all Goodshuffle Pro Plans.

If you'd rather not display your home or HQ address on quotes and invoices, you'll need to add a separate mailing address to your Goodshuffle Pro account. For soloprenuers and home-based businesses, a virtual P.O. box (also called a virtual mailbox or online P.O. box) is a great way to do this without renting space at a Post Office.

A virtual P.O. box gives you a real street address you can use as your business mailing address. The "virtual" part isn't the address itself — the provider operates a real, staffed mail facility at that location. Your physical mail and packages are delivered there by any carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.), just like at any other address. From there, the staff scans the outside of each item and uploads it to your online account, where you can choose what to do next: open and scan the contents, forward the item to wherever you are, shred it, or schedule a pickup in person.

Note: Virtual P.O. box services are offered by third-party providers. Goodshuffle Pro is not affiliated with these services and does not manage the sign-up, pricing, or ongoing service. The information below is provided as a resource to help you get started.

How to Set Up a Virtual P.O. Box

  1. Choose a provider. See a few well-known options below.

  2. Pick a mailing address location from the provider's network. Most providers offer addresses in multiple cities and states.

  3. Select a plan based on how much mail you expect to receive each month.

  4. Complete USPS Form 1583. This form authorizes the provider to receive mail on your behalf. It must be notarized, and you'll need to submit two forms of ID. Many providers offer online notarization as part of sign-up.

  5. Start using your address. Once approved, you can use the address right away and manage incoming mail through your online account.

Adding Your Virtual P.O. Box to Goodshuffle Pro

Once your virtual mailing address is active, you can add it to your account as a Mailing Address so it appears on your quotes and invoices instead of your HQ address.
