What Would My Client See on Their Statement After a Charge Is Made?

Here’s what your client will see as the estimated statement descriptor when a charge is made to their card.

This feature is available on all Goodshuffle Pro Plans.

Stripe provides an estimated statement descriptor for credit card charges. This is what your client sees after they pay, or your team captures a charge on their card.

Credit card payments will show your legal business name, not your DBA (Doing Business As).

Example:

A charge from a company legally named “Events and Rentals” would appear on a client’s credit card statement as:

EVENTSANDRENTALS

Only the first characters of your legal business name are used—not your DBA, URL, or brand name.

How to Update Your Statement Descriptor

You can edit your business’s legal name (used for your statement descriptor) directly in your Account Settings:

  1. Navigate to Account > Company.

  2. Click “Company Identity Verification.”

  3. Edit your Legal Business Name to reflect what you want clients to see.

  4. Click “Update Identity Verification Information.”

⚠️ Note: Stripe and Goodshuffle Pro do not control the formatting of how banks display this. It may appear in all caps or slightly truncated, depending on the card provider.
