This feature is available on all Goodshuffle Pro Plans.

When a dispute is lost, it may leave an outstanding balance in your Pending Charge Dispute account in QuickBooks Online. To clear that balance, you’ll need to create a Journal Entry that moves the amount from the Pending Charge Dispute account to Bad Debt, an expense account.

Steps to Remove a Lost Dispute in QuickBooks Online

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online account.

  2. Go to the + New menu and select “Journal Entry.”

  3. Set the date of the entry to match the date the dispute was finalized.

  4. In the Debits column:

    • Select your Bad Debt expense account.

    • Enter the amount of the lost dispute.

  5. In the Credits column:

    • Select your Pending Charge Dispute account.

    • Enter the same amount.

  6. Review the entry and click Save and Close.

💡 This entry ensures your Pending Charge Dispute account no longer shows the balance as owed, and appropriately records the amount as bad debt.
