Parents are any items that this item belongs to / is an accessory of.
For example:
When you're adding your chairs, the cushion will be an 'Accessory' (Learn More) of the chair.
When you're adding your cushions, the chairs the cushion can go along with will be the 'Parent' of the cushion.

Parents and Accessories only work between Products
The Parents/Accessories relationship connects one Product to another Product. A Service (for example, installation or setup labor) can't be set as a parent or an accessory, so it won't appear when you search the Parents tab, and a Service won't show a Parents/Accessories tab of its own; it only shows Basics and Details.
To make a Service come along with a Product, add the Service to the Product as a required Service:
Open the Product and click the pencil icon to edit it.
Click the Services tab.
Search for the Service.
Mark it as required.
Optional: set the number of hours.
Click Save.
This applies to newly created projects. If you already added the Product to projects before adding the required Service, remove it and add it back to those projects so the change takes effect.
If you need other items nested under something that is currently a Service (in other words, you want the Service itself to be the parent), that is not possible while it stays a Service. Recreate it as an Item/Product, then add the other items to it as required accessories.
