Auto-Route uses machine learning to provide you with the most efficient route(s) on any given day based on your Dispatch Vehicle Capacity. You can access Auto-Route from the Route Planner.

When you select Auto-Route you will have two options:

  1. Minimize travel distance

  2. Minimize duration

Minimize travel distance

When you select Minimize Travel Distance, Goodshuffle Pro will automatically assign your routes based on your Dispatch Vehicle Capacity — while prioritizing the shortest distance traveled between all vehicles currently in use.

When should I use it? This is a great option if you are focused on traveling the least number of miles possible and reducing vehicle wear-and-tear.

Minimize duration

If you select Minimize Duration, Goodshuffle Pro will automatically assign your routes based on your Dispatch Vehicle Capacity — while prioritizing the shortest amount of time spent driving.

When should I use it? This is a great option for you if you are trying to maximize the number of stops you can perform in a day.

Auto-Route FAQs

Get to know how Auto-Route works with these commonly asked questions.

How does Auto-Route work?

Auto-Route will look at all of your stops for a given calendar date and determine the best possible route based on your drop-off and pick-up times. Auto-Route automatically prioritizes stops based on whether they have a pinpoint arrival/drop-off time or a window arrival/drop-off time.

Can I only Auto-Route some of my stops?

No, if you choose to use the Auto-Route feature it will automatically route all stops scheduled for the given day. If you have already routed some stops yourself and then hit Auto-Route, those scheduled routes will be replaced by the new auto-created routes.

What happens if I have too many stops and they won’t all be able to fit?

If you don’t have enough time or Dispatch Vehicle Capacity for a day, when you hit Auto-Route you will get a notification letting you know how many and which stops were unable to be routed based on capacity. Vehicle Routing Capacity determines how many vehicles can be routed simultaneously. Every Goodshuffle Pro account includes the capacity to route one vehicle for free, and additional vehicles can be routed by purchasing extra Capacity.

How can I configure and expand Vehicle Routing Capacity for Auto-Route?

By default, your account includes routing capacity for one vehicle at no additional cost. If you need additional vehicle routing capacity, you can purchase it on a monthly or annual basis depending on your needs. Learn more about adding Dispatch Vehicle Capacity here.

Will Auto-Route automatically assign a driver?

No, after the routes are mapped to your various vehicles, you can go in and pick which driver will be in charge of each route. You can register an unlimited number of vehicles in your Goodshuffle Pro account, but the number of vehicles that can be routed simultaneously is limited by your purchased Capacity.

What if I need to add a custom-stop to my routes?

If you need to add a custom stop and you want it to be included in your Auto-Route, all you need to do is create the custom stop using these guidelines. Once it's created, then you can click Auto-Route.
