What is Event Host Liability Insurance?

Event Host Liability is a type of insurance coverage that helps protect individuals or organizations hosting an event from financial loss if they are held legally responsible for injuries or property damage that occur during the event. See Event Liability FAQs.

Venues typically require this insurance, which protects event hosts against:

  • Bodily injury claims

  • Property damage during the event

  • Accidents involving guests or rented items

It’s a must-have for most venues, and now it's easier than ever for clients to secure it directly during booking.

What is Inland Marine Insurance?

Inland Marine Insurance is a type of coverage that protects movable or transportable property - like tents, tables, chairs, lighting, AV equipment, and décor - that an event rental business owns or rents out. It’s especially important for businesses that frequently transport gear to and from event sites.

Inland Marine Insurance covers your rental inventory while it’s:

  • In transit

  • At temporary venues

  • Being handled by clients or third parties

It includes protection for:

  • Theft (even employee theft)

  • Equipment lost or misplaced during events

  • Damage during loading, unloading, or transportation

This coverage fills the gaps left by standard damage waivers, which typically don’t cover loss, theft, or transit damage.

Inland Marine Insurance is only available if your client purchases Event Host Liability Insurance. Inland Marine Insurance cannot be purchased separately.

Why This Matters for Event Rental Companies

By offering Event Host Liability Insurance through Goodshuffle Pro:

  • You reduce your risk exposure. Insurance claims are handled on the client’s policy, not yours

  • You protect your gear everywhere it goes, including during transport and client handling

  • You simplify the booking process by eliminating the need for clients to secure coverage elsewhere

  • You increase your appeal to venues, which often require liability + rental item protection
