Inland Marine Insurance is a type of coverage that protects movable or transportable property - like tents, tables, chairs, lighting, AV equipment, and décor - that an event rental business owns or rents out. It’s especially important for businesses that frequently transport gear to and from event sites.

Inland Marine Insurance is only available if your client purchases Event Host Liability Insurance. Inland Marine Insurance cannot be purchased separately.

What’s Covered?

Inland Marine Insurance covers loss, damage, and theft of your inventory from the moment it leaves your warehouse until it returns.

Transportation Damage

  • Equipment damaged during delivery or pickup

  • Accidents while loading or unloading

  • Damage from third-party transport services

Theft or Loss

  • Stolen items at the event site

  • Employee theft

  • Lost or misplaced equipment during transit or storage

Major Equipment Damage

  • Broken staging, torn tent materials, or smashed AV gear

  • Severe weather-related damage (if not already covered by a waiver)

  • Damage due to improper use by clients or staff

What It’s Not (Damage Waivers Usually Cover)

  • Minor wear and tear

  • Small spills, chips, scratches, or dents

  • Broken glassware or scuffed furniture from casual use

For those types of minor incidents, a damage waiver is still valuable and can be offered alongside this insurance.

Why It Matters

Most general liability or property policies don’t cover your inventory once it leaves your warehouse. Inland Marine Insurance ensures that your high-value gear is protected in transit and on-site, without requiring you to file a claim on your own insurance.

With Goodshuffle Pro, you’re added as an additional insured party, so you can:

  • Initiate the claim yourself. Learn more here

  • Avoid disputes or client chargebacks

  • Get covered without putting your own policy at risk

This will give you, the business owner, up to $10k free coverage for your inventory per event. You don’t pay the deductible, you can’t be dropped, and you can file the claim on your own.
