Why Exclude Vehicles from Auto-Routing?

Sometimes, certain trucks or vans shouldn't be considered when automatically distributing stops (a.k.a. waypoints) in a route—maybe they’re reserved for specific events, under maintenance, or already overbooked.

With this new feature, you can now exclude one or more vehicles from auto-routing, giving you more control over your dispatch strategy.

How It Works

When Auto-Routing

When you're assigning stops for the day and click “Auto Route,” you’ll now see a list of all eligible vehicles.

Each vehicle will have a checkbox or toggle next to its name.

Checked (default): The vehicle will be considered for auto-routing.
Unchecked: The vehicle will be excluded from receiving any stops during that run of auto-routing.

What Happens After You Click “Auto Route”?

  • Vehicles excluded from the selection will not have any stops automatically assigned to them.

  • All unscheduled stops will be distributed among the remaining eligible vehicles.

Example Use Case

Let’s say you have:

  • 3 vehicles in your fleet

  • 12 unscheduled stops

One of your trucks is booked for a VIP event and shouldn’t be disturbed.

  1. Click “Auto Route”.

  2. Uncheck that specific truck in the list.

  3. Click “Route”.

  4. The system will intelligently assign all 12 stops across the remaining two vehicles.

Pro Tip 💡

You can still manually assign stops to excluded vehicles if needed. Excluding prevents them from receiving stops automatically—perfect for special cases or operational flexibility.
