What Do the Different Scan States Mean?

When using the Barcoding feature in Goodshuffle Pro, you'll see color-coded scan results that help you quickly understand the status of each scanned item during Fulfillment. Here's what each color and status means:

💡 Pro Tip: You can find these descriptions while scanning items by clicking the Key!

🟢 Recognized

  • The scanned barcode matches an expected item on the project.

  • The item is in the correct fulfillment stage.

  • Count will automatically increase for the matching item.

  • Ideal scan result — keep moving!

🔵 Already Scanned

  • The barcode has already been scanned for this stage.

  • Prevents duplicate counts.

  • Useful if you're double-checking work or retracing steps.

🟠 Manual Override

  • Barcode tracking has been turned off for this item.

  • Adds accountability for exceptions and one-off cases.

  • Learn more about here

🟡 Not on Project

  • The barcode is recognized by the system, but the item is not included on this particular project or pull sheet.

  • Scans won't work unless they're properly assigned.

  • Helpful for catching items that were mis-picked or loaded by mistake.

🔴 Not Recognized

  • The barcode doesn't match any known item in your inventory.

  • Common causes:

    • Item hasn’t been barcoded in Goodshuffle Pro yet.

    • Wrong barcode scanned (e.g. manufacturer label).

  • No action is taken on the project.

  • You may want to investigate or manually link the barcode.

Tips

  • You can scan with any mobile device that has a camera.

  • Scans update live in the Digital Pullsheet.

  • Manual Overrides are logged for traceability.
