The Crew Assignment feature in Dispatch helps vendors coordinate logistics by assigning team members to routes. Below are the most common questions about how it works, what’s supported, and what’s not.
Can I assign the same person to multiple routes or stops?
Yes. You can assign a user to as many routes or stops as needed. The user will be flagged as a potential conflict. Learn more here!
Can limited users be assigned to routes?
Yes. Full users can assign both full and limited users to routes. This makes it easy to involve temporary or part-time team members in logistics planning. Learn more here!
Do assigned users get notified when they’re added?
Yes. Assigned users will receive an email notification letting them know when they’ve been added to a route or a waypoint.
Will I be notified if I’m removed from a dispatch crew?
Yes. Users who are removed from a crew assignment will also receive an email notification so they’re aware of the change.
What if someone doesn’t see their assignment?
Make sure:
The project is signed
They are a Team Member on the Project
They are checking the My Routes view.
If they still can’t see it, the assigning user should double-check that the assignment was properly saved.
Is this a calendar tool or a people scheduler?
No. This is not a full-scale employee scheduling tool. It’s designed specifically for assigning team members to fulfill logistics-related tasks like driving, loading, or setup, not for managing shift calendars.
Can users be assigned to services like Setup or Strike?
Not in this release. Assignments are only available for routes and waypoints, not for specific services within a project.
