What Should I Do When an Online Refund Fails?

Here’s what to do if an online refund attempt doesn’t go through in Goodshuffle Pro.

This feature is available on all Goodshuffle Pro Plans.

As the online refund failed, another refund for this payment must be recorded "Offline" (Article). This ensures your project stays balanced and prevents the system from retrying the online refund.

What Happens When a Refund Fails?

  • The failed refund will be marked as an "Other Payment" in your Billing tab.

  • It will show a status of “Failed”.

  • Account owners/administrators will receive a notification about the failure.


Why Do Online Refunds Fail?

Common reasons include:

  • The credit card used has been canceled or changed

  • The ACH bank account is now closed

  • The card or account is expired

If the failure reason is known, it will be listed in the refund details:
